Description

I’ve made these cookies for years! They only call for 5 ingredients and are easy to make.

Ingredients

  • 1-¼ cup Butter
  • 1 cup Powered Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 2-¼ cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1-½ cup Milk Chocolate Chips

Preparation

Cream butter; slowly add sugar and vanilla. Add flour gradually. Add chocolate chips. Make small balls, and flatten using the bottom of a flat cup. Bake at 325 degrees for 10 minutes or until the bottom just begins to turn golden.

I just made these today and they are really yummy! I only used 1 cup of butter, 2 cups of flour and 1 cup of chocolate chips instead of the full amount listed. (We’ve used a lot of butter in cooking and i’m trying to cut back where i can.)

I also added 1 extra teaspoon of vanilla. I love how they aren’t super sweet, but totally take care of my chocolate crazing. Nice recipe. Thanks for sharing!

This is a very good recipe for basic shortbread. Lovely sandy and buttery texture! I added 1/8 t of salt and they were great. I would definitely not recommend changing any of the other measurements. They are perfect as-is. Also baked very evenly. A winner!
