Description

Absolutely delicious, not too melty, amazing vanilla buttercream.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Butter
  • 1 cup Shortening
  • 8 cups Powdered Sugar
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 6 ounces, fluid Heavy Cream

Preparation

*Cream shortening and butter together until fluffy.

*Add sugar. I usually go at it one cup at a time.

*Add salt, vanilla, and cream to the mixture. Blend on low speed til moist.

*Add more cream if necessary. But I usually find 6 ounces, or just under a cup, to be perfect.

*Beat at high speed til fluffy.

*Lick your beaters.

This will easily top 24 cupcakes. :)

I gotta say, i’ve gotten raaave reviews for this frosting every time i’ve used it. And I, myself, absolutely love it as well. it has an amazing consistency, especially for piping. and like the guy before me said, it’s the perfect amount of sweet! I definitely plan on using the recipe ALOT.

This is really good. I made it today for a cake and it’s nice and light and fluffy. Sweet, but not sickeningly sweet. We loved it. This one is a keeper! Thanks, sodarnhappy!

Oh my goodness — this frosting is divine! :) So easy to make and turned out perfectly. I usually make cream cheese frosting, but my new DIL doesn’t like it — so I think I’ve found my new go-to frosting!! Thanks.
