Super easy recipe with only 6 ingredients. This was my mom’s recipe and it has been baked and loved for over 60 years! Deliciously yummy every time.
Mix butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Blend in flour and baking powder until a soft dough forms. Refrigerate several hours or overnight.
Roll on a floured surface and cut into desired shapes. Bake at 350ºF until lightly browned around the bottom edges.
Use a glaze icing made of powdered sugar, hot water and a drop or two of vanilla. Or spread Nutella between two cookies for an extra special treat.
This recipe makes a lot of cookies! Plain cookies freeze very well.

I’m not much of a cookie maker–and I certainly never make roll out cookies. So I was surprised to hear myself volunteer to make cookies for a church event. I didn’t even have a recipe. I used this one and couldn’t believe the compliments I received. It’s a keeper!
