Description

This delicious classic recipe came right out of my Grandmother’s recipe box. Fresh berries, Jello, and a graham cracker crust!

Ingredients

  • FOR THE CRUST:
  • 1-½ cup Crushed Graham Crackers
  • 6 Tablespoons Melted Butter
  • ¼ cups Granulated Sugar
  • _____
  • FOR THE PIE FILLING:
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons Cornstarch
  • Red Food Coloring
  • 4 Tablespoons Strawberry Jello Mix
  • 1 pint Fresh Strawberries
  • Whipped Cream (optional For Topping)

Preparation

For the Crust:
1. Place graham crackers in a zip top bag and crush with a rolling pin until you have the right amount of crumbs.
2. Mix the sugar into the crumbs, then add in melted butter and combine with hands.
3. Press crumb mixture into a pie tin with hands. Be sure to evenly coat the tin and press firmly so it sticks together.
4. Bake for 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees.

For the Pie Filling:
1. Combine water, sugar, corn starch, and a few drops of red food coloring in a medium pan.
2. Cook over medium heat until thick and clear.
3. Remove from heat and stir in Jello mix. Let cool.
4. Slice strawberries in half and lay out in pie crust.
5. Cover berries with Jello mixture and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
6. Slice, top with whipped cream, and serve!
