Description

Try this delicious and super easy pie this spring—or even Easter!

Ingredients

  • FOR THE PIE:
  • 1 whole Deep Dish Pie Crust
  • 3-½ cups Sliced Strawberries
  • 1 cup White Sugar
  • ⅓ cups All-purpose Flour
  • ⅛ teaspoons Salt
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • ½ cups Plain Greek Yogurt
  • FOR THE TOPPING:
  • ½ cups All-purpose Flour
  • ½ cups White Sugar
  • ¼ cups Butter
  • ¼ cups Finely Chopped Walnuts

Preparation

Line a pie pan with the uncooked pie crust. Place sliced strawberries on the pie crust.

In a bowl, mix together sugar, flour, salt, eggs and yogurt. Pour over strawberries.

For the topping, in another bowl mix flour and sugar. Cut in butter with a pastry blender. Stir in walnuts. Spread this over strawberries.

Bake in 375ºF oven for 55-60 minutes. Cover pie crust edge with foil if it starts browning too much.

This pie was a big hit with my friends! I was a little uncertain since I don’t usually do anything “baking” wise with yogurt other than naan bread, but I’m really happy I made this pie! One of my friends even said “I usually am not a fan of Greek yogurt, but I really like this pie”. I’ll definitely make it again. It’d especially be good for summer get togethers as the cool fruitiness of the strawberries and the richness of the yogurt. I didn’t try it while it was warm because I find pies with a milk component are better chilled. So I’d definitely recommend refrigerating it over night.
