Description

A not-too-sweet pie that is a really OLD recipe. My sister is a grandmother now, and this has been her birthday “cake” her whole life. (Wouldn’t she appreciate me saying THAT??)

Ingredients

  • 1-½ cup Vanilla Wafer Crumbs
  • 1 stick Melted Butter
  • ¼ cups Sugar
  • ¾ teaspoons Cinnamon
  • 3 whole Eggs, Beaten
  • 1 cup Real Sour Cream
  • ½ cups Sugar
  • 1 can (approximately 2 Cups) Cherries Packed In Water (NOT Cherry Pie Filing)

Preparation

Mix vanilla wafer crumbs, butter, sugar and cinnamon. Press into a 9″ pie plate and set aside.

Mix remaining ingredients and pour over crust. Bake at 325 degrees for one hour.

*Note: This is just as good with a regular ol’ graham cracker crust. Also, it is wonderful served warm, room temperature or chilled- your choice.

No, not a dumb question and sorry I didn’t mention it! Yes, drain the cherries- so glad you asked!

I know, dumb question, but do you drain the cherries? Sounds really good.
