Description

The best apple pie I’ve ever eaten!

Ingredients

  • FOR THE PIE:
  • 1 whole Pie Crust (Homemade Or Store Bought)
  • 1-¼ cup Sour Cream
  • ¾ cups Sugar
  • ¼ cups Flour
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 6 cups Apples, Sliced And Peeled
  • FOR THE TOPPING:
  • ½ cups Flour
  • ¼ cups Sugar
  • ¼ cups Light Brown Sugar, Packed
  • ½ teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • 3 Tablespoons Cold Butter

Preparation

Heat oven to 400F. Prepare pie crust and place in pie pan.

In a large bowl, beat sour cream, sugar, flour, salt, vanilla and egg with a wire whisk until well blended. Stir in apples. Pour into crust-lined pie pan. Bake for 15 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350F and bake for 30 more minutes.

In a medium bowl, mix all topping ingredients except the butter (flour, white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt). With a fork, cut in the butter until the mixture looks like coarse crumbs. Refrigerate until ready to use.

Sprinkle topping over pie. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes longer or until topping is golden brown.

Cool completely on a cooking rack, around 2 hours. Cover and refrigerate.

Enjoy!

Yum, this sounds good! I’ve been looking for a sour cream blackberry pie recipe—maybe I’ll try to adapt this one.
