Description

Classic chocolate chip cookies.

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Butter, Margarine Or A Dairy-free Substitute
  • ½ cups Brown Sugar
  • ¼ cups White Sugar
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1-½ cup Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • ½ cups Chocolate Chips Or 70 Grams Of Chopped, Dark Chocolate

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Line cookie tray with parchment paper or grease with non-stick spray.

Cream together butter, brown sugar and white sugar with a hand mixer or a wooden spoon. Beat in egg and vanilla extract. Add flour, baking soda, and salt and mix well. Fold in chocolate.

Roll into balls and place on prepared cookie sheet. Slightly flatten balls with your hand. Bake for 8-10 minutes. I always slightly under-bake them so they stay softer.

These were really good and I love the fact that they are soft, though they were around long enough to see how long they’d stay soft. As ususal I can’t leave a recipe alone. I added 1 tablespoon of maple syrup, extra chips, baked them as directed, then I put a marshmalloe on the flat side of half the cookies returned them to the oven for about 3 minutes, then topped the marshmallows with another oookie and voila a chocolate chip whoopie pie. The kids loved then as a lunch box treat. One weekend I am going to make them and sandwich some ice cream between them then keep them in the freezer for a special treat for my grandgirls. Thanks for sharing
