Description

Just like mom used to make, these cinnamon apples are as easy as they are delicious.

Ingredients

  • 6 whole Medium Sized Apples (I Used Golden Delicious)
  • ⅓ cups Brown Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoons Ground Nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 3 Tablespoons Water

Preparation

1. Peel, core and slice apples and place them in a large mixing bowl.
2. Add brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla to the bowl of sliced apples and toss to coat.
3. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
4. Add coated apple slices and water to skillet and cook 8-12 minutes until tender, stirring often.
5. Serve warm.

Huh? 6 Tbsp of apples?

The amount of apple is confusing. 6 Tablespoons of sliced apple would be less than one whole apple, no?

These were really good! I love the flavor and spice in this recipe. Apples are comfort food and these were very flavorful. This could easily be put in the middle of a pie crust, turn up the edges, and bake. I served mine hot from the pan with some heavy cream drizzled over the top. I also added a little salt, but that is because I’m a salt addict. Thanks for the great recipe, it’s a keeper!
