Description

S’mores that are portable and less messy? YES PLEASE! A remix on an classic treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 stick Butter, Room Temperature
  • ½ cups White Sugar
  • ¼ cups Brown Sugar
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • 1-½ cup Flour
  • ¾ cups Graham Cracker Crumbs
  • 5 whole Hershey Chocolate Bars (1 Ounce Size)
  • 1 package Marshmallow Creme (7 Oz)

Preparation

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8-inch square baking pan.
2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugars until light and creamy. Beat in egg and vanilla.
3. Then add the baking powder and salt. In small increments (about half cups) add in the flour and graham cracker crumbs. Mix at a slower speed until mixed well.
4. Divide dough in half and press half of dough into an even layer on the bottom of the prepared pan. If possible, use just a bit less for the bottom layer than the top.
5. Place chocolate bars over the dough breaking the chocolate (if necessary) to get it to fit in a single layer no more than 1/4 inch thick. Spread the top of the chocolate with marshmallow creme or fluff.
6. Place remaining dough in a single layer on top of the fluff (most easily achieved by flattening the dough into small shingles and laying them together like patchwork). This can be tricky because if you don’t have enough then your marshmallow creme will show through. It may be best to use a rolling pin to flatten the dough.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 until lightly browned. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
