Description

Delightfully moist chocolate brownies with a touch of sea salt! Yum!

Ingredients

  • 1-½ stick Unsalted Butter
  • 2 ounces, weight Unsweetened Chocolate
  • ¼ cups Plus Two Tablespoons Of Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 1-½ teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 3 whole Large Eggs
  • 1 cup All-purpose Flour
  • ½ teaspoons Large Flaked Sea Salt, Plus More For Sprinkling On Baked Brownies

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 8×8 or 9×9 metal pan with foil, draping the foil over the edges. Lightly butter the foil.

In a large saucepan, melt the butter with the unsweetened chocolate over very low heat, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat when melted. Whisking them in one at a time until thoroughly incorporated, add the cocoa, sugar, vanilla, eggs and flour. Pour the batter in the prepared cake pan and smooth the surface. Sprinkle with the half teaspoon of sea salt evenly over batter. Using a butter knife, swirl the salt into the batter.

Bake in the center of the oven for about 35 minutes, until the edges are set but the center is still a bit soft and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out coated with a little of the batter. Let cool at room temperature in the pan for one hour, then refrigerate just until firm, about 1 hour longer. Lift the brownie from the pan and peel off the foil. Cut into squares, sprinkle with sea salt if desired and serve the brownies at room temperature.

Make ahead: The brownies can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days and frozen for up to one month.

Correction to my comment ***I only let them cool in the pan for 5 minutes before chilling.

This is the only brownie recipe I make now. Everyone always asks for the recipe. We love them best out of the fridge or freezer. These are perfect if you love gooey, fudge brownies. Thanks for the recipe!

It’s hard to believe I will ever make another brownie recipe again. These are all the gooey-ness I love in a brownie, with delightful chocolatey-ness and a punch of salt to boot. And they were so easy. Using a kitchen scale I had only two dirty dishes!

This is my go-to brownie recipe!! I love it. I follow the recipe exactly as listed except I only let the brownies cool in the pan and then chill them right away.

Sometimes, if I want something bursting with flavors I use a chili infused dark chocolate bar (usually 3.5 ounces instead of 2) – and add in 2 tsp espresso powder. I still do the sea salt on top and everything else the same.

This is a very versatile recipe and it produces the perfect fudgy, delicious, rich chocolatey brownie that is sure to be a big hit.

Everytime I make these, everyone asks me for the recipe!!!

So so good! I added 10 minutes to the cooking time because I used an 8×8 glass pan. I might even add a bit more salt next time.
