Description

It’s time for a sweet Southern favorite. I love rice pudding and I remember my mother making it when I was a kid, using leftover rice. It was not nearly as rich and creamy as this recipe, but it was hot, sweet and full of cinnamon. Just the way I like it. This recipe is so easy, creamy and rich. I hope this recipe becomes one of your family’s favorites.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Uncooked Long-grain White Rice
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 cup Milk
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 can (14 Oz. Size) Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • ⅔ cups Raisins
  • 3 Tablespoons Heavy Cream
  • ½ teaspoons Cinnamon
  • 1-½ teaspoon Vanilla

Preparation

Place the rice and the water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and cook for approximately 15 minutes. Add milk and salt and cook another 10 minutes, stirring constantly. Stir in the sweetened condensed mild, raisins, heavy cream, cinnamon and vanilla. Cook over low heat about 20 minutes, stirring frequently until the pudding thickens. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving.

Serves 4 to 6.
