Description

A super simple baked dessert that packs a lot of flavor!

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks Unsalted Butter, At Room Temperature
  • ¾ cups Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 2-⅓ cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1 jar (about 10-12 Oz. Size) Fruit Preserves Of Your Choice

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350ºF and line a 9″ square baking pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil.

Add the butter, sugar, salt and vanilla to a large bowl and beat together until creamed. Slowly add in the flour and mix until thoroughly combined and the batter almost turns into a ball. Turn it out onto a floured surface.

Pat about 2/3 of the dough into the bottom of the pan until you have an even layer. Spread the jam on top but try to leave at least a 1/4″ border around the sides. Crumble the remaining dough in your hands and drop it on top of the jelly.

Bake for approximately 45 minutes or until the top is a light golden brown. Allow to cool before cutting into bars. The number of bars depends on how many squares you cut; I chose to make 16 smaller pieces.

These are really good! So simple, yet so good! Almost addicting. I used a bigger pan, 8×11 and baked about 35 min.
