Description

This is an old family recipe for a sweet, warm, apple-licious dessert!! Great with ice cream!!

Ingredients

  • 2 packages 8 Count Crescent Rolls
  • 2 whole Apples Cut And Peeled Into 16 Equal Slices
  • 1-½ cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 2 sticks Butter
  • 1 can Mountain Dew

Preparation

Roll out crescent rolls, put 1 apple slice on the end of each crescent roll and roll in up inside and pinch together the corners.

I start with the apple at the small end of the crescent roll and roll towards the bigger end.

After all 16 crescent rolls are filled with the apples, place them in a 9×13 baking dish.

Boil together: sugar, butter, vanilla until sugar is dissolved.

Pour over the crescent rolls, then pour the can of Mountain Dew over the entire dish.

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 min. or until crescent rolls are golden brown!!

Yummy! My hubby always bragged about his grandmother’s Apple Dumplins…since he was working from a memory from childhood, I have never tried to make them…who can compete with Grandma? I ran across this posting last week and just had to give it a try…ok, I made them and refused to tell him what they were called. He took one taste and said “These taste just like Mammy’s Apple Dumplins”…Thanks for helping me overcome 30+ years of competition!
