Description

Chewy, soft, pumpkin cookies with lots of chocolate chips!

Ingredients

  • 1 stick Butter
  • 1-½ cup Sugar
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 2-½ cups Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 cup Fresh Cooked Or Canned Pumpkin
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips
  • 1 cup Nuts (or 1 Additional Cup Chocolate Chips)

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350°F.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar, then beat in egg and vanilla.

In a separate bowl combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Alternate adding dry ingredients to the butter/sugar mixture with the pumpkin. When the dough is thoroughly combined, stir in the chocolate chips and nuts.

Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets and bake at 350°F for 10-12 minutes.

This recipe is from an old church cookbook from the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Women of Fairfield, PA.
