Description

It takes just 30 minutes to make this easy and impressive Plum Pecan Galette for unexpected company!

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Refrigerated Pie Crust
  • ¼ cups All-purpose Flour
  • 5 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • ½ teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoons Ground Nutmeg
  • ¼ cups Cold Butter, Cut Into Small Pieces
  • ¼ cups Chopped Pecans
  • 2 Tablespoons Fig Jam (or Your Flavor Of Choice)
  • 2 cups Pitted And Thinly Sliced Plums
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • ⅛ cups Pecan Halves

Preparation

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and unroll your pie crust on an un-greased baking sheet.

2. Mix flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in a medium bowl. Use a pastry blender or fork to cut the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture looks like coarse crumbs. Stir in the chopped pecans. Set aside.

3. Spread the fig jam over the unrolled pie crust, leaving a one-inch border around the edge. Top with half of the crumb mixture.

4. In a small bowl toss the plums with the vanilla extract, then arrange the slices on top of the pie crust, continuing to leave a one-inch margin around the edge.

5. Sprinkle with the remaining crumb mixture. Top with pecan halves. Fold in the pie crust edge to form the border, overlapping each little section of dough as you go (see photo).

6. Bake for 25 to 35 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Remove from oven and set pan on a rack. Allow it to cool for 30 minutes.
