Description

Plums, sugar, oatmeal … so yummy. This makes a wonderful sweet breakfast on a crisp fall morning, or a simple homey dessert.

Ingredients

  • 12 whole Plums
  • 2 cups Quick Oatmeal
  • ¼ cups Sugar
  • ¼ cups Brown Sugar
  • 1 stick Butter Or Margarine
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350F.

Pit and quarter plums. (If the plums are large, you may only need eight of them.)

Butter a shallow baking dish (I use a 10″ tart plate). Add plums.

Mix oatmeal, sugars, cinnamon and butter until butter is incorporated (two forks or a pastry blender work well). Cover plums with this mixture.

Bake until plums are soft and topping is lightly browned, about 25-35 minutes.

I am going to try and make this very soon. Our plum tree is full and ready to be used!

I made a 3rd of this recipe in individual dishes for 2 people (a bit heavy on the crumble but hey thats my favorite part!) Very good with a bit of custard on top!

This was a big hit. I used all brown sugar and added some ginger.
