Description

This is hubby’s favorite cake since he was a child, and it was just handed down to me last week after 32 years of marriage. She wouldn’t let go of it.

Ingredients

  • ½ pounds Butter, Room Temperature Soft
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 whole Egg Well Beaten
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 2 ounces, weight Semi Sweet Chocolate Melted
  • FOR FILLING:
  • 2 cans Pineapple, Crushed And Drained
  • 4 Tablespoons Flour
  • 2 whole Egg Yolks
  • 1 cup Sugar

Preparation

Combine the first 6 ingredients into a bowl and crumble with hands till mixed thoroughly.

Spread this batter-come-dough on the bottom of a 2-quart Pyrex rectangular baking dish, reserving approximately 1/2 cup of dough for garnish.

Combine the filling ingredients and place on top of the batter. With the remaining dough, break off pieces and roll into strings, decorating the top in x’s or lines.

Bake for 55 minutes to 1 hour at 350 F.

Well…rave reviews! Everyone loved the dessert. It’s very rich. Chocolate and pineapple – a great combination!
