Description

Also known as buckeyes.

My sister requests these every Thanksgiving. A delicious and addicting chocolate peanut butter treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Creamy Peanut Butter
  • ¼ cups Butter
  • 2-¼ cups Powdered Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Vegetable Shortening
  • 2 cups Semi-sweet Chocolate

Preparation

Line a baking sheet with waxed paper and set aside.

In a mixing bowl, combine peanut butter, butter and powdered sugar and beat until the mixture holds together. Shape into balls and place on a baking sheet. Place in the freezer for 1 hour or until firm.

Combine chocolate and shortening in a microwave-safe bowl and melt on high for 1 minute. Stir and continue to heat in 10 to 15-second intervals until chocolate is melted.

Using a toothpick, dip frozen peanut butter balls in the melted chocolate, leaving a small portion on top uncovered. Or cover completely, it’s up to you. Use a fork to pick up the bottom of the ball and let the excess chocolate drip back into the bowl.

Place the covered ball back on the baking sheet and repeat with the remaining peanut butter balls until done. Place sheets in the refrigerator until the chocolate sets.

Enjoy!
