Description

So, I ran out of dog treats (which is a big NO NO in my household). And my poor wee ones were looking at me, sadness in their eyes, and I knew that I had to do something. Truth be told, I usually just chuck them some fruit or veggies, but on this particular day I felt like going the extra mile and making them something delicious. So I whipped together these baked treats, which you can cut into your favorite shape.

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Peanut Butter
  • 1 whole Ripe Banana
  • 1 cup Spinach
  • ½ cups Water
  • 2 Tablespoons Flax Seed Oil, Or Olive Oil
  • 2-½ cups Whole Wheat Flour

Preparation

Blend the peanut butter and ripe banana together in a bowl.

In a blender, blend spinach with water, and pour into the peanut butter mixture, along with the oil. Stir to combine, then add flour.

Press the mixture together with your hands until a large ball is formed. Spread the ball out onto a lightly floured surface with a rolling pin. The thickness of the dough should be about 3/4 inch thick. Cut desired shapes with a cookie cutter, or a knife.

Bake in a 350 degree F oven, for 20 minutes (or until lightly browned on the edges). Allow to cool completely, and let your dog(s) enjoy!

I laughed out loud when I saw your recipe for doggie treats and it is only because I made up my own recipe for doggie treats for the same reason you did; I was out of the regular treats and I HAD to do something— those big brown doggie eyes just prompted me!

These are perfect and luckily, I had all the ingredients on hand. The way my husky kept scarfing them down almost had me tempted to try a bite or two…
