Description

This is a family recipe , handed down to me from my mother-in- law. I have to make at least one during peach season.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Flour
  • ¼ teaspoons Baking Soda
  • ½ cups Butter
  • 2 Tablespoons Sugar
  • 6 whole Peaches
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 1 cup Cream

Preparation

Mix together the first four ingredients. You can use a pastry blender to mix in the butter or just used your hands. Mixture should be a fine crumble. Pat into the bottom of a 9×13 inch pan. Press down with hands until very firm to form a crust.

Scald, peel and pit peaches. Slice each peach into approximately 12 pieces. Lay peach slices in rows on top of crust.

Combine 1 cup sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon and sprinkle on top of peaches. Bake for 15 minutes in a 400 degree oven.

Mix egg and cream and pour over peaches. Bake for 30 minutes in a 350 degree oven.

This is nearly identical to the recipe I am trying out of the Taste of Home Christmas magazine, only it has a cup of brown sugar instead of regular.

I’ve been looking for this recipe for years, but was spelling it wrong!

Thank you for posting this. It’s in the oven this very minute. I cannot wait.

(The recipe I grew up on was made with a dough base, but dough stresses me out, so I’m really looking forward to this.)
