Description

This cobbler recipe, passed down from my mother, has spoiled me for any other! My favorite is peach, but it can be made with virtually any fruit. Super yummy served warm with vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Sliced Fresh Peaches
  • 2 cups Sugar, Divided
  • 1 stick Butter
  • ¾ cups Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • ¾ cups Milk

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Gently mix peaches and 1 cup sugar in a non-metallic bowl; set aside to macerate.

Melt butter in the microwave (heat for 30 seconds at a time) and pour melted butter into a 2- or 3-quart baking dish.

In a separate bowl, make batter with remaining cup of sugar, flour, baking powder, salt, and milk. Pour batter over the melted butter—DO NOT MIX. Spoon peaches (with juice) over the top of the batter.

Bake 45-60 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.

Remove from the oven and let cool for a while. The cobbler will set up a bit as it cools.

Help me out. I see the ingredients call for Baking Powder, but the directions say add baking soda. Powder or Soda? THANKS!!!
