Description

I slightly modified my great grandmother’s cream cheese cookie recipe and added in crushed Oreos and chocolate chips for good measure. These are light and fluffy with a nice crunch from the Oreos.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cups Butter, Softened
  • 4 ounces, weight Cream Cheese, Softened
  • 1 whole Egg Yolk
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 cup Crushed Oreos
  • ¾ cups Mini Chocolate Chips

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Cream butter, cream cheese, and sugar. Mix in egg yolk and vanilla. Add flour and salt, a little at a time, until thoroughly mixed. Fold in Oreos and chocolate chips.

Line cookie sheet with parchment paper. Put a tablespoon of the batter onto your cookie sheet then flatten it with a fork. Repeat with remaining batter. Bake 11 – 14 minutes, until bottoms are slightly browned.

I didn’t have any Oreos so I just used the chocolate chips. They taste like little cheese cakes! Thank you!

This is a wonderful recipe. I have baked these 5 times this December, and it’s only mid-month!

The dough is really thick and needs to be worked together with your hands by the time you get most of the flour in. They taste pretty good raw, once baked these cookies are a real flop with very little flavor. The texture is OK but just does not make me think cookie or cheesecake. I will not be making them again. I am trying to salvage the dough by turning it into a crust for an actual cheesecake. On the up side, if you do like these cookies the dough appears very easy to ball and freeze so you can make just a few at a time in small batches if you like.
