Craving oatmeal cookies and don’t feel like creaming butter and sugar? These are the cookies for you. Made in one bowl with vegetable oil and dropped on a cookie sheet, they could not be easier. Another vintage recipe from the 1970s.
Preheat oven to 350ºF.
In a bowl, stir together flour, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, sugar and oats. Mix well.
Make a well in the center. Lightly beat egg, water, oil and vanilla together and pour into the well. (This can be done in the measuring cup used to measure the oil and water.)
Add raisins and mix until just moistened.
Drop by tablespoonfuls on an ungreased cookie sheet. These cookies do not spread.
Bake for 12–15 minutes or until lightly brown.
