Description

This has been a family favorite for years. It is different from other recipes due to the fact that it doesn’t have a biscuit-style topping. It is a moist , sweet, cake-like cobbler. We like it right out of the oven paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. And the bonus is you can even have it cold for a special breakfast.

Ingredients

  • 1 cube Margarine
  • 2 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1-½ cup Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1-½ cup Milk
  • 1 quart Peaches, Reserve The Juice

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350F.

Melt margarine. In a mixing bowl, add flour, sugar, and baking powder; stir together. Pour in the melted margarine. Using a fork, cut the margarine into the dry ingredients. Add the milk and break up the lumps until batter is smooth.

Pour batter into a lightly sprayed 9×13 cake pan. Take the sliced peaches and arrange them on top of the batter. Finally, pour the peach juice over the entire cobbler.

Bake for 1 hour. This will be golden brown. Serve hot or cooled, either way it will taste great!
