My first verdict was that they were good, but not worth the work I put in them (had to toast and peel the skin off the hazelnuts, etc.). But the next day these were awesome – the flavors had finally just mixed together the way they were supposed to.

I made these bars today. I’ve never had a nanaimo bar before, but these looked too good to pass up. The verdict? TOTALLY AWESOME!! I need an intervention quick before I eat the whole pan.

I was already going to make the Jalapeno Popper Dip that you posted on your site….I guess I’ll add these also to my Sunday menu! They look WONDERFUL! Anything with Nutella I’m going to love – no questions asked.

Thanks for sharing this, this recipe can easily be made Gluten Free, by substituting GF graham cracker crumbs, my 10 year old grandson thanks you.
