Description

The most amazing chocolate cake I’ve ever made!

Ingredients

  • 1 box (18-20 Oz. Size) Devil's Food Cake Mix
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 8 Tablespoons Butter, Melted
  • FOR THE FILLING:
  • 8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese, Softened
  • 1 cup Nutella
  • 3 whole Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 8 Tablespoons Butter, Melted
  • 16 ounces, weight Powdered Sugar

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Combine cake mix, egg, and butter and mix well with an electric mixer. Pat the mixture into the bottom of a lightly greased 13 by 9-inch baking pan.

To make the filling, in a large bowl, beat cream cheese and Nutella until smooth. Add eggs, vanilla, and butter, and beat together. Next, add powdered sugar and mix well.

Spread Nutella mixture over cake batter and bake for 40 to 50 minutes. Make sure not to overbake as the center should be a little gooey.

Serve with fresh whipped cream.

This sounds great, I plan on using one of the Gluten Free Betty Crocker cake mixes for my grandson. All the rest of the ingredients are Gluten Free, wish me luck.

Oh good Lord! Gooey Butter Cake is a favorite from when I was little. This may just be my downfall.

I’ve made this twice. I’ve used devil’s food and a regular chocolate cake mix. The first time I made it I added 1/2 cup of chopped hazelnuts. I didn’t use nuts this last time, but I prefer it with the nuts! I baked closer to 50 minutes. It’s been a huge hit both times I’ve made it! Thanks for sharing. :)

I made this cake for a birthday party for my Brother-in-Law. The cake was a huge hit.
I used a Triple fudge cake mix – in stead of Devil’s food and this cake is sinful. I saw several guests go back to nibble the cake again and again. I gave it 4 mitts because even though it’s absolutely scrumptious, it’s loaded with things I shouldn’t eat. I will make this again for friends and family.
