Description

Frozen, creamy, almost like ice cream pie. It was a recipe from my next door neighbor growing up and one of the best! Everyone will love this one.

Ingredients

  • 18 whole Graham Crackers
  • 6 Tablespoons Butter
  • ¼ cups Granulated Sugar
  • 8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese (1 Package)
  • ½ cups Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • ½ cups Milk
  • 9 ounces, weight Cool Whip (1 Carton)

Preparation

Graham Cracker Crust:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a food processor, grind the graham crackers to a fine consistency. Melt butter.

Mix graham crackers, sugar and butter together and press into a pie plate. Bake for 7-9 minutes. Cool before using.

Pie Filling:

Beat together the cream cheese and peanut butter thoroughly. Add the powdered sugar and beat until completely incorporated.

Slowly add the milk until mixed in and then beat for 2 minutes on medium speed. Fold in Cool Whip by hand.

Pour filling into graham cracker crust. Freeze at least 2 hours before serving.

To save time, you can use a store-bought graham cracker crust but it is not the same. You can also use a chocolate cookie crust, use crunchy peanut butter instead of creamy, sprinkle chopped peanuts on top, or shaved chocolate or chocolate sauce. There are many ways to dress this one up and make it your own.

This pie is amazing! I made it for a family Christmas party and it was a huge hit. Not to mention it was so easy to make. I accidentally bought too small of an aluminum pie plate, so there was a ton of filling left over. I froze it to enjoy later on it’s own and it was a great alternative to ice cream (not sure if it is any less fattening!). My husband loved the filling so much, he asked me to make just the filling to eat for dessert. Great recipe, thanks!

I make this pie, too, but my recipe calls for a regular pie crust and 1/4 cup chopped salted peanuts for garnish. SO good!!!

Just as an additional side note, I think that you could even reduce the sugar to 3/4, maybe 1/2 cup – the dessert was great but VERY sweet. I’m going to try 1/2 cup next time…

Just put two of these in the freezer to harden. Had regular pre-made graham crusts on hand, so I used those, and went with LITE whip topping. I plan to garnish with a sprinkle of peanuts and choc chips around the edge. I can already tell this is FABULOUS. So easy, perfect fifteen minute thing to whip up and be able to store for a day or two in the freezer :>)

Made this over the weekend and it was a huge hit. The pie was super easy to make and so SO yummy. Changed it up a smidge- used chocolate graham crackers For the crust and added some chocolate chips to the pie for crunch. Love it and will makei t again in the future.
