Description

The perfect sugar cookie for baking precious memories with those you love.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Flour, Plus More For Dusting Your Work Surface
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • ¾ cups Butter, Softened
  • 1-½ cup Sugar
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla

Preparation

Sift together the dry ingredients (flour through salt) in a mixing bowl and set aside.

In a large bowl, using your hands, mix together the butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add the sifted flour, baking powder and salt and mix with your hands until incorporated.

Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for a few hours or overnight.

Preheat the oven to 400°F.

When ready to use dough, sprinkle a flat surface with flour and roll dough with a rolling pin until it’s 1/4 of an inch thick. Cut the dough into your desired shapes with cookie cutters. Place cookies on an ungreased cookie sheet or a Silpat baking mat. Bake in the pre-heated 400°F oven for 6-8 minutes until golden brown. Repeat process until all of the dough has been used. Let cookies cool completely before icing them.

*Note: For the icing we just followed the recipe on the back of the confectioner’s sugar bag and added food coloring. Paint icing onto cookies with a clean dry paintbrush.

ENJOY!
