Another of Grandma Rose’s famous family recipes. This is THE easiest pie to make: light, creamy and delicious. Good luck keeping this one a mystery! Enjoy!
Grease a 9-inch pie pan with the butter. Using an electric mixer, beat egg whites until stiff (I suggest using a pre-chilled mixing bowl). In a small bowl, combine sugar and baking powder. Gradually add to the egg whites. Beat until stiff. FOLD in nuts, crackers, and vanilla. Pour into the pie pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and cool completely. In a medium bowl (again, chilled is best), beat cream until whipped. Cover cooled pie with the whipped cream. Grate the chocolate bar over the entire top of the pie. Store in the refrigerator.
