Description

This ooey, gooey cookie bar is absolutely wonderful. Where does the name come from? I have no idea!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • ½ cups Butter, Room Temperature
  • 3 whole Eggs
  • 5-½ cups All-purpose Flour
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 cup Mini Marshmallows
  • 1 cup Pecans, Roughly Chopped
  • ½ cups Hershey's Kisses Minis
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar

Preparation

Beat together sugar and butter until creamy. Beat in 1 whole egg and 2 egg yolks (put aside the whites for later).

In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, salt and baking powder. Add to the butter mixture and mix well. Spread into a 9×13″ pan. Sprinkle with marshmallows, nuts and Hershey’s chips.

Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Fold in the brown sugar. Spread over the mixture in the pan. Bake in a preheated 350ºF oven for about 30 minutes or until bars are a deep golden brown and the crust is cooked through. Cool in pan and cut.

These were delicious! However, the 5 1/2 cups of flour were definitely too much. I used three cups of flour instead and the crust worked out perfectly. They reminded me of grown up s’mores.

i did not love these. 5 1/2 cups of flour made for a very thick and dry crust. the toppings were good but if i ever did these again i would cut the crust in half
