The trick is to beat the cream cheese first before adding any other ingredients. Once it's smooth, then add the marshmallow cream. I only used 1/4 teaspoon of almond extract. When it was done, I stirred in 1/2 tub of Cool Whip. It turned out great!

Mine was very very runny. I seem to have this issue with every kind of frosting I make. I followed the recipe exactly and couldn't get it to thicken no matter what I did. Suggestions?

I just tried this frosting today on a carrot cake I made for my son's birthday. I thought this
would be a lower fat substitute for my regular cream cheese frosting recipe which uses 1 stick of butter, 1 block cream cheese, 1 box confectioner's sugar and vanilla. The frosting was so soft I could not ice the cake with it, until I added in 4 tablespoons of softened butter. I also had to use 2 (7 oz.) tubs of marshmallow creme to the 1 block of cream cheese in order to make enough frosting to ice the cake. After the tweaks, the frosting was good, although it does have a softer consistency than the regular cream cheese frosting.

I have made this frosting for many years but have also used low-fat instant pudding instead of the cream cheese. I chill the pudding and then mix with the marshmallow cream. It's YUMMY!

I have been making this frosting recipe for years! My family ALWAYS requests this and doesn't like the cakes when others bring us a cake and it has another frosting on it. AND IT IS SO EASY!

The flavor is really good but the consistency is pretty thin. I can't imagine trying to pipe it. I used brand name cream cheese and marshmallow fluff. Even after two cups of powdered sugar and a couple of tablespoons of vanilla pudding it was still runny. I spooned it on top and enjoyed them anyway!

This is very good. Like others have said, it's not overly sweet, so it works for those who don't like traditionally sweet frosting. I do like sweet frosting, but I liked this on a rich, sweet cake that I baked.
