Description

Yummy and easy treat for the big and small Halloween fans.

Ingredients

  • 1-½ cup All-purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Baking Soda
  • ½ cups Olive Oil Or Any Vegetable Oil
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 whole Eggs, At Room Temperature
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • ½ cups Hot Water
  • ½ teaspoons Vinegar
  • 2 Tablespoons Cocoa Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Instant Coffee Powder

Preparation

Preheat oven at 180 C. Grease a 9-inch round baking tin and set it aside.

In a medium bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda and keep aside.

In another bowl, use a mixer to blend together the oil and sugar, till it forms a creamy mixture. Add eggs, vanilla extract, water and vinegar. Whisk on medium speed till everything is mixed together completely.

Now, lightly fold in the dry ingredients making sure no lumps are formed.

In a third medium-sized bowl, put half of the cake batter. Into that bowl add cocoa powder and coffee powder and whisk to form a smooth chocolaty batter. So now you have two equal-sized bowls of batter, one plain and one with chocolate flavor.

Take the baking tin, pour in 2 tablespoons of plain batter, then 2 tablespoons of chocolate batter over it, and continue these layers one by one till both batters are finished. Now take a toothpick and drag it through the batter from the center out to make web design or make any design that you desire.

Bake at 180 C for 40 minutes. Then do the toothpick test: Insert a toothpick at the center of the cake and if it comes out clean, cake is done. Cool the cake and then serve as desired.
