Description

I can honestly say most “pretty” cookies usually don’t taste good. However, these do! Kind of time consuming, but what cookies aren’t. :) They were worth it! Very, very yummy!!
Be sure to follow it with”The Glaze” recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Butter (soften)
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon Zest
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 2 cups All-purpose Flour
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt

Preparation

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Beat butter and lemon zest till creamy.
Gradually add sugar, beating well.
Combine flour and salt, gradually add to the butter mixture, beating until blended.
Shape dough in a ball, put in the fridge for 20 minutes.

Roll dough to 1/8″ thickness on a lightly floured surface.
Use your favorite cookie cutters!
Bake for 12 to 14 minutes till edges are lightly brown.

I wasn’t sure about this recipe because it didn’t have eggs… but YUM! I made them for a get-together and I was glad that I couldn’t fit all of the cookies in the box because they ALL got either eaten or other ladies asked if they could take a few home for their kids!

This one is a ‘keeper’!

These are great. I made them with my 2 year old and they are so easy. I made them twice. The second time I used vanilla essence rather than lemon zest as my daughter didn’t like the lemon version (although I did)
