Description

This easy, delicious pie is the original recipe my family grew up on in my native Florida.

Make your own crust, or just buy a prepackaged one!

Sweet, tangy and incredibly easy!

Ingredients

  • 1-¼ cup Graham Cracker Crumbs
  • 3 Tablespoons Sugar
  • ⅓ cups Butter
  • 1 Tablespoon To 2 Tablespoons Of Grated Lime Zest
  • 2 cans (14 Oz. Size) Sweetened, Condensed Milk
  • ½ cups Sour Cream
  • ¾ cups Key Lime Juice
  • Optional Garnishes: Whipped Cream And Lime Rounds

Preparation

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Make the crust by combining the graham cracker crumbs and sugar. Then melt the butter in the microwave and mix it together with the crumbs.
3. Press the grainy crust mixture against the bottom and up the sides of a pie dish.
4. Grate the skin of a lime until you have 1 – 2 tablespoons of zest (depending on how “limey” you like it!).
5. In a medium bowl, combine condensed milk, sour cream, lime juice, and lime zest.
6. Mix well and pour into the graham cracker crust.
7. Bake in preheated oven for about 8 minutes, until tiny pinhole bubbles burst on the surface of pie. Do not overcook or get even close to brown! If you don’t get these pinhole bubbles, that’s OK just make sure to still pull out the pie in under 10 minutes or it will burn!
8. Chill pie thoroughly before serving.
9. Garnish with whipped cream and lime rounds, or however desired!

the one thing that might be helpful in your recipe is the size of pie it makes. I realize you said 10 servings, but is it an 8″ or 9″ or 10″? I’m guessing 8, but????

I was reluctant to try this when I saw there were no eggs…but this was soo tasty!! VERY Easy and tasted authentic to me. It was a huge hit on Mother’s day. I will use this again!

Excellent! Key Lime Pie is my favorite dessert ever and this was the easiest recipe. I have already made this three times over and will continue to use this recipe and give it to anyone that needs a good dessert idea for sure!

This is probably one of the best key lime pies that I’ve made and I’ve gone through quite a few recipes trying to find the right one (I didn’t make the crust, bought a pre-made one). I bought a ton of key limes months ago when they were on sale and juiced them and put them in my freezer. Unfortunately I didn’t have any limes to zest but I had an orange so I zested a little bit of that in. I also added maybe another couple tablespoons of juice just so I could get rid of the bag I had. It really turned out great. I’ll definitely be making this pie again. Thanks!
