Description

Homemade apple pie recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Batch Of Dough For A 2-crust Pie, Store Bought Or Your Favorite Recipe
  • 6 cups Thinly Sliced, Peeled Apples
  • ¾ cups Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Flour
  • ¾ teaspoons Cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • ⅛ teaspoons Ginger
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice

Preparation

Heat oven to 450F. Prepare your favorite 2-crust pie dough recipe – or use store bought. Put the bottom section of dough into your pie pan.

Combine all filling ingredients tossing lightly. Spoon into pastry lined pan. Top with remaining pastry. Press together the edges of the bottom and top pastries in order to seal. Cut a few slits the top pastry to vent.

Bake for 40-45 minutes or until crust is golden brown.

I am so proud of this recipe, it was my great gramma kellers recipe and is a hit. very tasty, wholesome, and good no matter if it is cool or hot. Try it you wont be dissapointed

This pie is “wonderfully good” as the PA Dutch would say. It is so delicious and gives you a cozy, homey feeling as you eat it with a cup of hot tea. Yum!
