Description

Sinfully rich chocolate pecan pie with a splash of Jack Daniels!

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Pie Crust, Prepared But Unbaked
  • 3 Tablespoons Butter
  • 3 whole Eggs
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • ¾ cups Light Corn Syrup
  • ½ teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 3 Tablespoons Jack Daniel's Whiskey
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • 2 ounces, weight Semi-sweet Chocolate
  • 1-¾ cup Pecan Halves

Preparation

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.

Roll out the pastry and fit it into your pie pan, fluting the edges.

Heat the butter in the microwave for just a few seconds until almost melted.

In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs until frothy. Add the sugar, corn syrup, vanilla, whiskey, salt and the almost-melted butter.

Chop the chocolate coarsely, and place it into the pie pastry along with the pecans.

Pour the filling over the top and bake at 350ºF for about 45 minutes. Keep an eye on the crust and cover the edges with foil if it begins to get too brown. For some reason I always have this problem.

Cool completely before cutting.

Delicious! Serves 6-8.

I just made this pie tonight, and it was delicious!!! It was the best pecan pie I’ve ever had!!

I have a Bosch mixer and I let it really froth the eggs while getting the rest of the ingredients ready. So it looked a lot creamier than a normal pecan pie as I was pouring it into the pans. The pecans were all at the bottom of the pie, but I mixed the pecans in with the creamy sauce, instead of putting them in the pie pan and then pouring the sauce over them. I also mixed the chocolate bits in with the sauce. So my pies didn’t look like the photo and I was worried that it wouldn’t taste good. But looks sure can be deceiving!! It was so creamy and the chocolate was the perfect added touch, without taking away from the taste of the pecans!

Hubby has already requested me to make this pie again for Thanksgiving, Christmas, his birthday and any other occasion that requires dessert. LOL! It was a huge hit and I can’t wait to make it again soon!
