Description

Remember Honey Buns in Junior High School? This cake is just like them without the stale part. It got rave reviews.

Ingredients

  • 1 box (18.25 Oz. Box) Yellow Cake Mix
  • ¾ cups Vegetable Oil
  • 4 whole Eggs
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Cinnamon
  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 4 Tablespoons Milk
  • 1 Tablespoon Vanilla

Preparation

Preheat oven to 325º. Butter or spray a 13×9″ baking pan, set aside.

In a large bowl, combine cake mix, oil, eggs and sour cream. Stir by hand, about 50 strokes will do or until large lumps are gone. Pour half of your batter into prepared pan.

Combine brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle evenly over the batter. Spoon the other half of the batter over the cinnamon sugar. Using a knife, swirl so it looks like a honey bun, just in crazy eight patterns or the letter S. You know how to do it.

Bake for about 40 minutes.

To make your frosting just whisk powdered sugar, milk and vanilla until smooth. Pour over the hot cake. Let set up for about an hour.

Your family will thank you for this one.

Thanks for a great recipe. My family loved this. They all raved about this cake. I have made it twice. First time for a family gathering. Second, for my husband’s birthday. My husband thought that raisins would be good in it, so I made the one for his birthday with raisins. To add raisins, I tossed a cup of raisins with a little of the cinnamon sugar mixture, then sprinkled them on top of the cinnamon sugar. Then proceeded as directed.
