Description

A really fun treat to make from scratch!

Ingredients

  • FOR THE FIRST LAYER:
  • ½ cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 2 Tablespoons Butterscotch Chips
  • 2 Tablespoons Peanut Butter
  • _____
  • FOR THE FILLING:
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • ½ cups Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Milk
  • ⅔ cups Marshmallow Fluff
  • 2 Tablespoons Peanut Butter
  • ½ cups Chopped Lightly Salted Peanuts
  • _____
  • FOR THE CARAMEL LAYER:
  • 5-½ ounces, weight Werther's Original Caramels
  • 2 Tablespoons Heavy Whipping Cream
  • _____
  • FOR THE TOP LAYER:
  • ½ cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 2 Tablespoons Butterscotch Chips
  • 2 Tablespoons Peanut Butter

Preparation

For the first layer:
Combine the ingredients in a microwave safe bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals until the ingredients have melted together. Mix in between each interval. It took me about 90 seconds total to melt them together. Spread the first layer evenly into your greased 8×8 baking dish. Refrigerate while you make the second layer.

For the second layer (the filling):
Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add sugar and milk and bring to a boil. Stir for 5 minutes until thickened. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in marshmallow fluff, peanut butter and peanuts. Spread over the first layer. Refrigerate while making the third layer.

For the third layer (caramel layer):
Unwrap the caramels and combine the two ingredients in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals (about 60 seconds total) until melted. Spread evenly over the filling and refrigerate while making the last layer.

For the last layer:
Do the same as the first layer. Refrigerate for 1–2 hours until the bars are completely set. Cut into eight 4×2 inch bars and enjoy!
