Description

This recipe makes a crust NOT from the log! It is simple, homemade and delicious—and free from nasty hydrogenated oils. Using cream of tartar instead of baking powder also eliminates aluminum in the crust.

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Butter
  • 1-¼ cup Sugar, Divided
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 1-¼ cup All-purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Cream Of Tartar
  • ½ teaspoons Baking Soda
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 package (8 Oz. Size) Cream Cheese
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 2 cups Sliced Fruit (blueberries, Strawberries, Kiwi, Etc.)

Preparation

1. Preheat oven 350ºF. In large bowl, cream butter and 3/4 cup sugar. Add the egg. Combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Add dry ingredients to the butter mixture ingredients.
2. Press dough into a pizza stone or pan. Bake 8-12 minutes.
3. Beat together the cream cheese, remaining 1/2 cup sugar and vanilla. Spread onto the cooled crust. Top with fruit—you can use more or less of course!
