Probably not the MOST NUTRITIOUS way to get your antioxidants. But definitely the tastiest.
In a large mixing bowl, beat butter with a handheld mixer for 30 seconds. Add sugar, egg, baking soda, cream of tartar, and matcha powder and beat until well combined, scraping the sides of the bowl. Beat in flour (you may need to mix with a spoon to incorporate evenly). Cover and chill for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Place 1/4 cup of fine sugar in a small bowl. Shape dough into one inch balls, then roll in the sugar. Place on an ungreased baking sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake for 9 minutes. Remove from oven and transfer to a wire rack to cool.
