Grandma’s M&M Cookies

Description
Grandma always used to have a good supply of these on hand for the grandkids. We’d come over and head straight for the cookie jar! Those who got to help make them fondly remember carfully pressing three M&Ms on top of each cookie. Grandma gave me this recipe when I was 4 years old, and I’ve been baking them ever since!
Ingredients
- 1 cup Shortening
- 1 cup Brown Sugar, Firmly Packed
- ½ cups White Sugar
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla
- 2 whole Eggs
- 2-¼ cups Flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1-½ cup M&M Chocolate Candies
Preparation
Blend shortening and sugars in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Sift remaining dry ingredients together and add to the sugar mixture, blending well. Stir in M&Ms, reserving some to press on top of each cookie.
Drop onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Decorate tops with remaining M&Ms and bake at 375F for 10 minutes until golden brown.
