Description

Handed down from my grandma, these chewy, gooey bars have 5 layers: buttery graham cracker crust, coconut, walnuts, chocolate and sweetened condensed milk. Just pile all the ingredients in a pan, and they bake into bars like magic!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Butter, Melted
  • 2 cups Graham Cracker Crumbs
  • 2 cups Shredded Coconut
  • 2 cups Chopped Walnuts
  • 2 cups Milk Chocolate Chips ( I Recommend Using 3 Cups If You Like Chocolate)
  • 2 cans Sweetened Condensed Milk (14 Oz. Each)

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 F. Pour melted butter into a 9×13 baking pan. Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs over the top in an even layer. Sprinkle coconut over top in an even layer, followed by the walnuts, and finishing with the chocolate chips. You may add more or less chips depending on how chocolaty you like things. Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the top in an even layer and gently spread out.

Bake for 15 minutes then turn oven temperature down to 325 F and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbling.

Remove pan from the oven. Let it cool for at least an hour before cutting into squares. They’ll cut cleaner if you chill them in the fridge for a while first.

These were so delicious and easy to make! I accidentally forgot the walnuts in them and they were still great (nice for those of you who don’t like nuts or are allergic).
