Description

The classic Christmas cookie that is chewy with a little crunch of sugar on the outside.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cups Butter
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • ¼ cups Molasses
  • 1  Egg
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1-½ teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoons Cloves
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • Granulated Sugar, For Rolling Cookies

Preparation

Cream butter, sugar, molasses and egg. Add flour, baking soda and spices. Mix well.

Roll into small balls, or use a cookie scoop. Roll balls in granulated sugar.

Bake at 350ºF for 8 to 10 minutes.

Thanks annewf. I bake all my cookies on Pampered Chef stoneware pans. (Actually I cook everything on PC stoneware). It makes a huge difference in the texture. I highly recommend them!

I thought these were really good. A nice spicy cookie that goes perfectly with a glass of milk. Mine didn’t come out like the picture though. They spread a great deal and didn’t havve that crackled appearance but they were still very tasty. I did leave the batter out for a bit in a warm kitchen so maybe that had an affect on them.
