Description

These are blue ribbon winners of the Yavapai County Fair! What more do you need to know?

Ingredients

  • ¾ cups Oil
  • 1 cup Sugar, Plus More For Rolling
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 4 Tablespoons Molasses
  • 2 cups Flour
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoons Ground Ginger

Preparation

Mix oil, sugar, egg, and molasses in a medium-sized bowl. Add flour, salt, soda, cinnamon, and ginger. Stir well.

It might seem a little dry, but keep stirring and it will all come together nicely.

With a cookie dough scoop or a spoon, form dough into round tablespoon-sized balls. Roll balls in sugar and place on a cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees until firm. Do not over-bake! (They get hard if you cook them too long.)

Let cookies stand on the cookie sheet for a few minutes before removing.
