Description

Spicy and sweet, these are a great summer cookie. You’ll need to give some to the neighbors to avoid eating them all yourself. So therefore, they also build community.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Butter Or Margarine
  • ½ cups Brown Sugar
  • ½ cups Granulated Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Tablespoon Molasses
  • ¼ cups Natural Applesauce
  • 2-½ cups All Purpose White Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ½ cups Crystallized Ginger, Chopped Small
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips

Preparation

Let margarine sit until it is slightly softened, then cream it together with sugars.

Add vanilla, applesauce, and molasses and stir well.

Add flour, baking soda, and salt and stir until a sticky dough forms. Stir in chocolate chips and ginger.

Plop tablespoons of dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees for ten minutes.

these were great! I’d almost put a little more ginger, but they are subtle and wonderful as stands. will defiantly make again; a real crowd pleaser.

Whoops! I use applesauce as an egg replacement so that’s all I meant. I’ll fix it in the instructions.

thanks!
