Description

A perfect way to serve those tree-ripened peaches. The almond extract in the pie and the whipped cream makes it delish. We slurped up the whole pie in 12 minutes flat!

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Pie Crust Pre Baked
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • ½ cups Water
  • 3 Tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 2 cups Peaches Pureed
  • 1 teaspoon Almond Extract
  • 5 cups Peeled And Sliced Fresh Peaches
  • 2 cups Whipping Cream, Whipped

Preparation

In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, cornstarch, butter and pureed peaches and bring to a boil. Boil for about 2 minutes, until thick. Cool completely.

Add almond extract. Stir in the 5 cups of fresh sliced peaches into the filling and pour into the prebaked pie crust. Top with fresh whipped cream (sweetened with a little almond extract added in it too).

Eat this fast. It doesn’t last.

HOORAY! Finally, an open-faced peach pie that does not use Jello! I signed up to bring a pie to our office potluck next week and was searching high and low for a fresh fruit pie recipe that looked half decent. This is it for sure. Thanks a million.

This summer I received a lot of peaches from my neighbour, that I canned in a light syrup, you give me a wonderful idea to use it !

Delicious! The best peach pie I have ever tasted. Be sure to make 2…there is never enough of this pie.

I made this for my husband’s birthday, it didn’t hold as well as I would have liked, but it tasted fantastic! Thanks for sharing.

PHENOMENAL. Absolutely divine! There is a local restaurant a few hours from here that makes a fresh peach pie that is so delicious you can’t believe it is real. This tastes just like it! My husband even said so.

I do suggest making a cornstarch slurry before adding it to the other ingredients so it won’t get lumpy. I let mine get REALLY thick and it still didn’t stick the peaches together very well. But it didn’t matter because the pie was gone in 10 minutes flat.
