Description

An easy, melt in your mouth, chocolate pie. My husband prefers this over cake for his birthday.

Ingredients

  • 1 package Frozen Pie Crust, Or Homemade Single Crust
  • 3 ounces, weight Semi-sweet Chocolate, Melted And Cooled
  • ¾ cups Unsalted Butter, Softened (do Not Use Margarine)
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1-½ teaspoon Vanilla
  • 3 whole Eggs
  • Whipped Topping (such As Cool Whip)
  • Chocolate Curls

Preparation

Heat oven to 450º.

Prepare crust according to directions for unfilled one crust pie using a 9″ pan. Bake for 9 – 11 minutes or until lightly browned; cool.

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate; cool.

In a large bowl, cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy.

Blend in cooled chocolate and vanilla.

Add eggs, one at a time, beating at medium speed for 5 minutes after each addition.

Pour into cooled crust. Refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving.

Garnish with whipped topping and shaved chocolate curls. Keep in refrigerator.

Note: this recipe does use raw eggs so if you have any sensitivity to this please use caution.

Since this does not appear to be a recipe you created (judging by the scanned pic), you may want to credit it to whomever created it.
