Description

Soft, smooth and delicious flavored yogurt. This is a wonderful sweet dish with loads of dry fruits!

Ingredients

  • 1 container (907grams Size) Thick Plain Yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon Cardamom Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Crushed Cardamom
  • ¾ cups Sugar
  • ¼ cups Dry Fruits(I Used Almonds,Cashew Nuts,Black Raisins)

Preparation

You will also need a piece of cheesecloth or muslin cloth (one that is big enough to wrap around the yogurt).

Into the cloth, pour the yogurt. Tie a knot around the cloth, to make sure the yogurt does not spill. Hang the tied cloth with yogurt to the kitchen sink tap so that all the water from yogurt drains out. Keep it there for around 2-3 hours.

Transfer the remaining curd that’s left in the cloth to a bowl. Add cardamom powder and crushed cardamom. Beat it with spoon so that the grainy texture is gone and it will turn to a soft and silky texture. This should take around 3 minutes. Add sugar to this and beat it until the sugar is dissolved. This will take around 5-6 minutes. Check for the taste and add more sugar if needed.

Add dry fruits and mix well. Chill until you are ready to serve. Serve chilled and enjoy!

Tips:
1. I used the listed amount of sugar, as I like shrikhand semi sweet. You can adjust the sugar quantity as per choice.
2. Do not over beat it as it might start giving some oily texture for the shrikhand.
