Super easy holiday treat, perfect for your holiday party!
Blend wafers into fine crumbs. Pour into a bowl. Add powdered sugar, nuts, salt and cocoa to the crumbs. Mix well. Add rum or bourbon and corn syrup. Stir with a fork until moist. Mix with hands until completely combined. Shape into balls then roll in extra powdered sugar. Store in a covered container.
Note: to substitute rum extract, add 1 tablespoon extract plus milk or water to make 1/2 cup total.
Enjoy!

beachchef, in my experience, 1 batch makes about 2 dozen 1-1 1/2″ rum balls. I put 6 servings because … 4 rum balls is a good serving size when you can’t have just 1, 2 or 3

My recipe is a little different, see below, but these are a holiday favorite at our house. Some great variations include whiskey, walnuts, or my favorite: orange rum with orange zest added to the mixture.
2.5 c Nilla wafers
2 T cocoa
1 c powdered sugar
1 c pecans
3 T karo syrup
1/4 c rum
